Picture Tag

I was tagged by Nicki to play along.

The object of the picture tag is to:
1) Choose the 4th folder where you store your pictures on your computer
2) Select the 4th picture in the folder
3) Explain the picture
4)Tag 4 people to do the same
NO CHEATING! (cropping, editing, etc!)

I do not know many people who actually blog...and the ones I already know have been tagged, so I will just post the picture and explanation...

This picture was taken last February when it snowed for the first time in forever in Tupelo.  Hannah was super excited to see the snow.  She doesn't really match, as you can tell!  We just threw something warm on and went outside to play!  Also, she has red eyes in this picture...

Three Years Ago Today...

Three years ago my life was changed completely.  I said "forever" to Scott as a husband and Hannah as a daughter---immediately became wife and mom...since then life has been full of craziness, laughter, and love.  I have been so blessed to have someone to love and respect me to spend the rest of my life with!  Below is one of the first pictures taken of us as a married couple, on our honeymoon at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, TN, in December 2005.  Under that is one of the most recent pictures of us taken on Thanksgiving 2008.

Today Scott surprised me at work.  There was an all-call on the intercom for Mrs. Burns to go directly to her classroom.  Wow...that only happens when something major is going on!  I rushed to get to my room, however it took a while because I was completely across the building! When I got to my room Scott was sitting at my table with beautiful flowers and Mexican food for lunch!  How sweet!  It was absolutely perfect!

I wouldn't trade my life for anything.  I absolutely adore him and Hannah.  They make my heart smile...nothing is better than that!

Happy Anniversary, Scott.  I love you.

Good Times with Friends

This past weekend was so busy!  We had a surprise party for my dad on Saturday, then Scott had to leave immediately to go DJ another party!  He did not get finished with his party until close to midnight, so we decided to spend the night in Columbus again.  We had all intentions of leaving early Sunday morning, but we could not get up, so we left in time to get back for church--missing Sunday School.  Well, Hannah was out the entire way back home--and still in her pj's, so I decided to let her stay home to sleep--truth is I wanted to sleep too!  I was beginning to get grouchy from lack of sleep--yes, I admitted it!  Scott went to church, and we rested.  Bart and Andi, friends of ours from church, invited us over for Chili.  Carson, their son was cheesing for the camera, until Scott wanted to take pictures of him in front of the Christmas tree...he decided he didn't care too much for that!  I think Scott managed to get a few cute pictures of him.

By this point he was not interested in cheesing it up for the camera!

After we ate yummy chili, Hannah decided to massage my shoulders!  I think she may have a career in massage therapy ahead of her!  I am not sure what I was talking about, but I am sure it was important!  Andi is in the corner of this picture.

Kasie and Cody were also over at Bart and Andi's.  Kasie and I graduated High School together and were roomies at Northeast Community College.  We were attached at the hip the majority of our middle and high school years!  We both kind of went our separate ways after Northeast, but somehow, Kasie ended up in Tupelo!  So now her and her husband go to church with us and we get to see a girl's night almost every week!    Kasie wanted to be on the blog, so here you go Kasie!  The only pictures Scott took of her Sunday were her making a face...the first one is her bringing her hands up to make a face, and I am sticking out my tongue!  Not the most glamorous picture--and a little blurry!

Close up of the silly face...

One last picture of the little man!

We somehow managed to not get any pictures of the husbands, probably because they were stuck in front of the television watching football!  Oh well, maybe next time!

After we ate chili, I had to rush off to get ready for our Christmas program.  It turned out to be really good.  Below is a picture of the choir.  You can't see me, but I am on the left hand side, front row.  We didn't do our typical Christmas program, but I really enjoyed the music this year!

This past weekend we went to Columbus.  Scott had to DJ two parties, one being my dad's surprise birthday party!

The tradition of the typical Saturday morning at Nana and Papaw's is to have pancakes for a late breakfast...this all started because Nana made them once for Scott and since then he hinted around until she began making them just about every time we came. Hannah loves pancakes as much as her daddy...She woke up saying that she had a dream about pancakes--I think this was more of a hint--just as her dad would have done!  This Saturday was a little bit more hectic than usual, because we were trying to get everything ready for the party, so our breakfast was cereal.  After Hannah ate a bowl of cereal she was kind of walking around like she really wanted something, and finally asked!  Nana mixed all the ingredients and let Hannah have her turn at cooking them.  She did a pretty good job!  Here are a few pictures of the chef in training!

Carson and Zoe

After church some friends of ours, Bart, Andi, and Carson came over to eat lunch with us.  Carson was particularly entertained by Zoe, our cat.  Let me set up the next two pictures.  He would walk around saying "kitty, kitty".  Then he finally found her hiding under the table.  Typically we would not let her be under there, but she was trying her best to get away from Carson--I think he scared her a little! He tried to reach her, but couldn't because of the stool, so he moved it out of his way to pet her.  It was so sweet! (Please ignore the multi-colored wall behind the table...we haven't painted yet!!)

Our Gingerbread House---sort of....

Hannah and I decided to make a Gingerbread house...couldn't be that hard, right?!  Well...we had a great time, but the poor thing sure didn't last long...literally it fell apart about 5 minutes after we made it (if that long!!)

Voila!  Our Completed Gingerbread House!  Looks almost just like the picture!!

The next thing we know...

All that was left of our beautiful creation...

Ole Miss Photo Shoot

I decided not to go to the Egg Bowl Friday, due to a couple of reasons--For one, I knew there was a possibility for rain!  I am not a big fan of being out in the cold for a long period of time--especially just sitting there, much less out in the cold rain!  Second, I knew there was a very BIG chance that my poor Alma Mater (MSU) would be beaten--little did I know of the KILLING that was headed their way. I have been cheering for Ole Miss, even wearing an Ole Miss shirt occassionally--but there is something about the place you spent so much time and where you got your degree that you have to support them!  Well, to be honest, I was kind of afraid to support them this game!   The third and final reason, Friday morning at 4:20 A.M. I woke up with what I knew was about to be a migraine.  I was feeling sick and my head was about to explode.  I immediately took my medicine then got back into bed, which is where I stayed most of the day.  Scott, Hannah, Mimi, and Al headed to Oxford and had a great time at the game.  Scott actually worked the game.  He got to stand on the sideline right beside the Ole Miss players--I saw him on tv a couple of times!

After the game, Hannah was pumped!  She and her daddy did a mini photo shoot showing off their Ole Miss gear!

I am not going to say anything else about the embarrassment that happened Friday....but I am glad that Scott, Hannah, Mimi, and Al had a great time!

Thanksgiving

So Thanksgiving was just a little bit different this year!  We planned on all of Scott's family coming to our house, and initially I had planned on cooking the typical Thanksgiving dinner.  However, once I found out that no one would be able to come until Thursday morning, we decided to go to Cracker Barrel for our Thanksgiving meal.  I will have to say I was a little nervous because this was the first time ever that I would not have the "traditional" dinner at a family members (or my own) house.  Well, all week we knew Jonah had been feeling very bad and was unsure if he would be able to make the trip.  Wednesday we found out that Dan, Nicki, and Jonah would be staying at home.  Hannah was extremely upset because she really wanted to see Jonah, but at the same time she was so concerned for him and his health!  It was very sweet!

Thursday morning Mimi and Al got to Tupelo.  We talked for a little bit, then decided to go ahead and go eat!

This picture is the only one I got of Al the entire time he was here.  I am almost positive he was hiding from the camera!  Scott took this one while he was walking to the car--caught off guard!

I am glad we decided to go to Cracker Barrel when we did because we waited for over an hour and a bunch more people came in after us!  Below are some pictures of us trying to entertain ourselves while waiting!

I am not sure what they are talking about, but Hannah was sure glad her Mimi was finally here.

Scott's new look, suits him pretty well...

I think Scott and Mimi could have stayed watching this Santa the entire time we waited!  They would press the button and laugh and laugh and still be laughing when it quit--ok, mainly Mimi, but Scott did laugh at it for a while also!

I never can get a serious picture of these two!  I love to see them interact.  Hannah adores her Daddy and it is so sweet to capture in pictures!

It is so obvious Scott took this picture himself, but we had to have a picture of us on Thanksgiving Day...I wish we would have taken one with Hannah in it too!

We were so bored and trying to entertain ourselves...

Below is a picture that Scott took of Hannah while we were sitting at the table waiting on our yummy biscuits!  He took the picture through the glass from the oil candle on the table.

Soon after this picture our food came, and suddenly the camera disappeared...we were so hungry!  After we ate, we did a little shopping, played  a couple of rounds of Phase 10, and drove around looking for people waiting in lines for Black Friday, just for Mimi!  That night we ate Taco Soup and watched Wall-E.  Overall, not a traditional Thanksgiving, but it turned out to be a pretty good one!

Camping Out For Canned Goods

For those of you who know Scott, you know that he likes to get attention when he is working for a cause...so he camped out for 72 hours, 15 feet in the air to raise awareness and money for Hope Family Ministries (a non-profit organization that offers free biblical counseling) and Canned Goods for the Salvation Army.  He started at 10 p.m. on November 19th and his feet did not touch the ground until November 22nd at 10 p.m.  While it got extremely cold, he managed fairly well.  He had plenty of people taking care of him, which helped me out a whole lot!

Saturday morning Hannah and I passed out flyers at Kroger to tell people what was going on.  We got a pretty good response, mainly in canned goods from the flyers!  After we passed out the flyers we went by to see Scott.  Hannah decided to entertain the cars passing by us.

The next two pictures are of Scott's home for 3 days!  I took these pics Saturday, so at this point he had already taken the tent down in preparation of coming down.  The Armada parked next to the "tower" is where people placed their canned good donations.

Thankfully a guy from our church had this nice camo hunting outfit (can you tell I don't hunt, nor do I know anyone who does?!) which kept him warm!

Below is a picture of the canned goods collected through Saturday morning.  There are a lot that are in the floor board under the seats, and a bunch more were brought later that were left at Kroger as a donation.

All in all this event turned out very well!  It was somewhat of a last minute event, however, it came together very well!  Overall they raised an Armada full of canned goods and about $6,000 cash.  I am very proud of Scott, even more so after climbing up on that tower and getting nauseated from the thing being so shaky (it was on an uneven surface).  I don't know how he did it, but he managed!  Who knows what he will be camping out for next, but I am sure this won't be his last one!

Not Your Typical Friday Night At The Mall...

Friday night Scott was the DJ for the 2nd Annual Harden House Adoption Fest!  Since November is National Adoption Month, Harden House decided to have a little bit of fun to raise some money since they are a non-profit organization and awareness to adoption.  This was the 2nd time they have asked Scott to DJ for this particular event.  I think, while last year was great, this year was probably a little better.  Although it was moved inside the mall, rather than in the parking lot, due to rain, it turned out great and I think everyone had a great time!

"Hannah Montana" made an appearance...she sang several songs and did rather well.

The highlight of the event was when Santa made his entrance into the mall.  The kids instantly swarmed around him.  I didn't get a very good picture because of the stampede of little feet!!

Scott interviewed Santa and Hannah got to stand right beside him. I have several pictures from this particular instance...in all of them Hannah was cheesing it up for the camera.  She was so excited to see Santa--and her Daddy got to talk to him!!  Wow!!

A very close up of Hannah

Hannah and her friend, Addie, sat and watched "Hannah Montana" perform.  They had a great time playing and dancing together!

Below is Scott doing his "thang"!

Who has ever danced, like really danced in the middle of the mall?!  It was great!!

Every little boys dream...dancing with Snow White...ok, so he isn't so little anymore, but Scott did get to dance with Snow White.

Three beautiful girls...Addie, Avery, and Hannah.  Addie and Avery go to our church.

The real Hannah and the "Hannah Montana" look/sing-a-like!  She even got her autograph!!

In order to raise money, there were numerous characters walking around so that you could have your pictures made.  The last two pictures are a group shot of all of the characters and Scott.  Spiderman was there, but left early--so obviously he missed the group shot!
