Bowling

Hannah has been asking us for a while to go bowling, and we were never able to go...until this weekend. We all three had a four-day weekend, which gave us plenty of time to spend together! She had no clue where we were going or what we were doing, but as you can tell in the next picture, she was super excited to be bowling...

This picture was taken when we first got there...all smiles! :)

How ugly are bowling shoes?!?! Just ridiculous! Mine didn't even have the same colored shoe strings!!

Look at that technique...wonder who taught her?

Hannah and her pretty eyes!

After going in the gutter a few times, Daddy stepped in and saved the day...where was he when I was getting all the gutter balls?!?

Scott won both games, however, Hannah and I were pretty close to being tied for 2nd place! Not bad, huh?! We had a great time, and laughed a lot!!

Easter 2009

Here is a long picture post to fill you in on a little of what happened at our house this weekend...

Hannah and I went to see the new Hannah Montana movie last Friday. We returned home from the movie and dinner, and Hannah had a surprise from Mimi waiting on her.

Once we finally got everything out of the package, she was very happy to see what was inside!

"A PINK BASEBALL GLOVE!!!" I am pretty sure Mimi could have heard her scream all the way in Jackson. She was extremely excited!!

And a bat...

and ball!!

Later that day we made Easter cookies. Hannah was very precise when cutting out the shapes.

Here are our cookies before we baked them.

We decorated them with icing and sprinkles.

Here are 9 of our decorated cookies. I think we did a good job!

Saturday Hannah helped Scott work outside. That night, we grilled steaks. Scott decided to go get some crawfish while the steaks were cooking. Hannah and I were grossed out by them, but he enjoyed them (so did Eli!)

EASTER SUNDAY

Sunday morning the Easter Bunny left a surprise for Hannah.

I know, you are thinking, this is not a typical gift for a 10-year-old girl, so let me explain...Hannah wanted a tool set for Christmas so she could help her dad work around the house...apparently Santa did not get the memo, but the Easter Bunny took care of it!

Scott helped Hannah dye the eggs.

I like this picture simply because it is both father and daughter's hands...just sweet to me.

Scott helped for a little bit, but then decided to eat one...notice Hannah's expression! (She is thinking, that is one less egg that I get to dye, Dad!!)

We have had a blast this weekend!! However, I managed to NOT get a picture of Hannah with her Easter dress on!! Horrible, I know!!

Good Times with Friends

This past weekend was so busy!  We had a surprise party for my dad on Saturday, then Scott had to leave immediately to go DJ another party!  He did not get finished with his party until close to midnight, so we decided to spend the night in Columbus again.  We had all intentions of leaving early Sunday morning, but we could not get up, so we left in time to get back for church--missing Sunday School.  Well, Hannah was out the entire way back home--and still in her pj's, so I decided to let her stay home to sleep--truth is I wanted to sleep too!  I was beginning to get grouchy from lack of sleep--yes, I admitted it!  Scott went to church, and we rested.  Bart and Andi, friends of ours from church, invited us over for Chili.  Carson, their son was cheesing for the camera, until Scott wanted to take pictures of him in front of the Christmas tree...he decided he didn't care too much for that!  I think Scott managed to get a few cute pictures of him.

By this point he was not interested in cheesing it up for the camera!

After we ate yummy chili, Hannah decided to massage my shoulders!  I think she may have a career in massage therapy ahead of her!  I am not sure what I was talking about, but I am sure it was important!  Andi is in the corner of this picture.

Kasie and Cody were also over at Bart and Andi's.  Kasie and I graduated High School together and were roomies at Northeast Community College.  We were attached at the hip the majority of our middle and high school years!  We both kind of went our separate ways after Northeast, but somehow, Kasie ended up in Tupelo!  So now her and her husband go to church with us and we get to see a girl's night almost every week!    Kasie wanted to be on the blog, so here you go Kasie!  The only pictures Scott took of her Sunday were her making a face...the first one is her bringing her hands up to make a face, and I am sticking out my tongue!  Not the most glamorous picture--and a little blurry!

Close up of the silly face...

One last picture of the little man!

We somehow managed to not get any pictures of the husbands, probably because they were stuck in front of the television watching football!  Oh well, maybe next time!

After we ate chili, I had to rush off to get ready for our Christmas program.  It turned out to be really good.  Below is a picture of the choir.  You can't see me, but I am on the left hand side, front row.  We didn't do our typical Christmas program, but I really enjoyed the music this year!

This past weekend we went to Columbus.  Scott had to DJ two parties, one being my dad's surprise birthday party!

The tradition of the typical Saturday morning at Nana and Papaw's is to have pancakes for a late breakfast...this all started because Nana made them once for Scott and since then he hinted around until she began making them just about every time we came. Hannah loves pancakes as much as her daddy...She woke up saying that she had a dream about pancakes--I think this was more of a hint--just as her dad would have done!  This Saturday was a little bit more hectic than usual, because we were trying to get everything ready for the party, so our breakfast was cereal.  After Hannah ate a bowl of cereal she was kind of walking around like she really wanted something, and finally asked!  Nana mixed all the ingredients and let Hannah have her turn at cooking them.  She did a pretty good job!  Here are a few pictures of the chef in training!

Ole Miss Photo Shoot

I decided not to go to the Egg Bowl Friday, due to a couple of reasons--For one, I knew there was a possibility for rain!  I am not a big fan of being out in the cold for a long period of time--especially just sitting there, much less out in the cold rain!  Second, I knew there was a very BIG chance that my poor Alma Mater (MSU) would be beaten--little did I know of the KILLING that was headed their way. I have been cheering for Ole Miss, even wearing an Ole Miss shirt occassionally--but there is something about the place you spent so much time and where you got your degree that you have to support them!  Well, to be honest, I was kind of afraid to support them this game!   The third and final reason, Friday morning at 4:20 A.M. I woke up with what I knew was about to be a migraine.  I was feeling sick and my head was about to explode.  I immediately took my medicine then got back into bed, which is where I stayed most of the day.  Scott, Hannah, Mimi, and Al headed to Oxford and had a great time at the game.  Scott actually worked the game.  He got to stand on the sideline right beside the Ole Miss players--I saw him on tv a couple of times!

After the game, Hannah was pumped!  She and her daddy did a mini photo shoot showing off their Ole Miss gear!

I am not going to say anything else about the embarrassment that happened Friday....but I am glad that Scott, Hannah, Mimi, and Al had a great time!

Thanksgiving

So Thanksgiving was just a little bit different this year!  We planned on all of Scott's family coming to our house, and initially I had planned on cooking the typical Thanksgiving dinner.  However, once I found out that no one would be able to come until Thursday morning, we decided to go to Cracker Barrel for our Thanksgiving meal.  I will have to say I was a little nervous because this was the first time ever that I would not have the "traditional" dinner at a family members (or my own) house.  Well, all week we knew Jonah had been feeling very bad and was unsure if he would be able to make the trip.  Wednesday we found out that Dan, Nicki, and Jonah would be staying at home.  Hannah was extremely upset because she really wanted to see Jonah, but at the same time she was so concerned for him and his health!  It was very sweet!

Thursday morning Mimi and Al got to Tupelo.  We talked for a little bit, then decided to go ahead and go eat!

This picture is the only one I got of Al the entire time he was here.  I am almost positive he was hiding from the camera!  Scott took this one while he was walking to the car--caught off guard!

I am glad we decided to go to Cracker Barrel when we did because we waited for over an hour and a bunch more people came in after us!  Below are some pictures of us trying to entertain ourselves while waiting!

I am not sure what they are talking about, but Hannah was sure glad her Mimi was finally here.

Scott's new look, suits him pretty well...

I think Scott and Mimi could have stayed watching this Santa the entire time we waited!  They would press the button and laugh and laugh and still be laughing when it quit--ok, mainly Mimi, but Scott did laugh at it for a while also!

I never can get a serious picture of these two!  I love to see them interact.  Hannah adores her Daddy and it is so sweet to capture in pictures!

It is so obvious Scott took this picture himself, but we had to have a picture of us on Thanksgiving Day...I wish we would have taken one with Hannah in it too!

We were so bored and trying to entertain ourselves...

Below is a picture that Scott took of Hannah while we were sitting at the table waiting on our yummy biscuits!  He took the picture through the glass from the oil candle on the table.

Soon after this picture our food came, and suddenly the camera disappeared...we were so hungry!  After we ate, we did a little shopping, played  a couple of rounds of Phase 10, and drove around looking for people waiting in lines for Black Friday, just for Mimi!  That night we ate Taco Soup and watched Wall-E.  Overall, not a traditional Thanksgiving, but it turned out to be a pretty good one!
